When can I pick up keys to my apartment?
  • On the day your lease starts, you can pick up your keys in the Leasing Office during office hours (Monday-Friday: 8:30AM-5:30PM, Saturday: 10AM-5PM, Sunday: 1PM-5PM).
  • Please note that to receive keys, all leaseholders must have signed the lease and any charges due must be paid.
  • If you are unsure of your lease start date, refer to the Welcome Letter that was emailed to you or the front page of your Lease Agreement.

What is my apartment address?
  • Your full address (including apartment number, city, state, and zip code) is stated on the Welcome Letter that was emailed to you as well as the front page of your Lease Agreement.

Do I need to have a renters insurance policy?
  • Yes, renters insurance is a requirement of your Lease Agreement. You must set up a policy prior to moving in.

Who should I contact to get renters insurance?
  • We have partnered with Assurant to provide quality renters insurance at a reasonable price.
  • Contact Assurant at 855–846-9278 or visit insuranceformyplace.com to sign up.
  • Assurant will provide proof of coverage directly to us on your behalf.
  • If you choose a different company for your renters insurance, be sure to provide proof of coverage to us prior to moving in.

What should my renters insurance policy include?
  • We require leaseholder(s) to maintain a minimum of $100,000 in liability coverage for the length of the lease (and any subsequent lease renewals).
  • The policy must indicate “WMCI Raleigh IX, LLC 1000 McQueen Drive Durham, NC 27705” as an additional interested party.
  • For more information on renters insurance, click here.

How do I set up electricity?
  • Contact Duke Energy at 1-800-777-9898 or go to www.duke-energy.com to begin the process of setting up electric service.
  • The service should be effective on your lease start date.
  • If Duke Energy requires you to complete an ID Verification Form, feel free to visit us at the Leasing Office – we can give you a printed copy of the form and can even notarize it for you.

How do I set up telephone, cable, and internet service?
  • If you wish to set up these optional services, contact Spectrum at 1-855-243-8892 or www.spectrum.com.

When is my first payment due and how do I make the payment?
  • Your first payment is due the day your lease begins and the amount due is listed on the Welcome Letter that was emailed to you.
  • After you have electronically signed your lease and we have countersigned it, you can make your payment online. Simply login to your online account and:
    • Select My Payments
    • Click Make a One-Time Payment
  • Type the amount listed on your Welcome Letter into the Extra Payment Amount field.
  •  You can also make a payment with a check, money order, or cashier’s check. Payments should be made out to The Belmont Apartments.

When is rent due each month?
  • Rent is due on the 1st of each month and is considered late after the 5th of the month.

How will I know what amount to pay each month?
  • A resident statement will be sent to you each month that details your rent and other applicable charges that are due.
  • You’ll receive your statement via email if we have your email address on file.
  • Your statement can also be viewed from your Online Resident Services account.

How do I pay my rent and water each month?
  • Once you move in, we have multiple ways for you to pay online!
  • Sign up for Auto-Pay! It’s a FREE service that automatically debits your bank account each month to pay your rent and any other applicable charges. Plus, you’re automatically entered for a chance to win $100 off your rent EACH month that you’re enrolled in Auto-Pay! To sign up: Log into your online account and select Make Payments. Click the Payment Accounts tab to add your bank account info and then go to Auto-Pay Setup.
  • Make a one-time payment from a checking or savings account. There is no fee for this service!
  • Pay with a credit card. A convenience fee of 1.75% is added to credit card payments so keep this in mind, especially since there are free ways to pay!
  • If you prefer to pay by check or money order, you can drop your payment off in the leasing office or you can use the rent drop box 24 hours a day.

How do I write a check to pay my rent?
  • Below is an example of a completed check. Be sure to make the check out to The Belmont Apartments.

 How do I request maintenance?
  • Routine Requests: Enter a routine maintenance request anytime online! Log into your Online Resident Services account and click the maintenance icon or call 877-214-4107.
  • Emergency Requests: Always CALL the phone number given above (this number is also on your refrigerator magnet) and follow the prompts for emergency maintenance. Your call will be answered 24 hours a day. Never enter an emergency request online as it will not be received until the next business day.

How do I receive packages?
  • Packages are delivered to onsite package lockers which are monitored by video surveillance. If a package is delivered for you, you'll recieve an email from [email protected] alerting you that it's ready for pick up. The email will contain an access code for the locker and you can pick up your package anytime - 24 hours a day!

Is there a bus route and schedule?
  • Yes, our community is on the Duke & VA-Hillsborough Rd #11 bus route. This route has a stop at Lasalle St at Campus Walk Dr which is a frequently-used pick up/drop off location.
  • Plan your route, view bus schedules, and get fare information by visiting the Go Durham website.
